Why BJJ Private Lessons are Beneficial?
Our professors and coaches are willing and available for private lessons. If you are trying to get better at a subject in school sometimes it’s difficult to get the attention you need in a class full of students. This is where a tutor would come in and be beneficial. The same goes for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It’s a matter of how much you prioritize your training, and how much money you want or are able to invest . If private lessons are something you have considered or are thinking about, here are some helpful facts to consider.
Great for Beginners:
If you are new to Jiu-Jitsu or considering giving it a shot. Jumping into a group class with no clue on what’s happening can be intimidating or downright scary. Taking a few private lessons before your first group class will have a huge impact on your experience in the beginning stages of training Jiu-Jitsu. You will attend your first group class with a fundamental understanding of the basic movements, positions, vocabulary and be much more comfortable on the mats when paired up with other students. This is why we always recommend a new student take at least 3-5 private lessons with their professor prior to training in a group setting.
Private lessons allow you to have your instructor all to yourself, so if you are having problems with anything in sparring or have any questions it’s easy to get the answers you are looking for. Even if you just need tips on what to work on, private are the perfect time to get that game changing technique or advice you might night even know you need.
Your instructor can give create a personalized curriculum tailored toward the strengths and weaknesses you may have in your game. As well as improve any bad habits you may have.
Sometimes work or family can get in the way of your training schedule, but with private lessons it is much more flexible. It’s easy to to find time for a quick private training session and continue your progress.
Private lessons can put you a step ahead of your competition or other students. In Jiu-Jitsu you need to have an answer for every situation, private lessons will give you those answers much quicker.
Roll with your Professor/Coach:
Private lessons are a great opportunity for you to roll with your professor or coach, sometimes this can be difficult during group classes when the instructors attention is more spread out. This gives your instructor a chance to analyze your game by feeling you roll, and pointing out holes in your game.
Great for Kids
Many parents don’t realize this unless they train themselves but learning Jiu-Jitsu is very frustrating and difficult, which is why many kids quit training. It’s not that they don’t like it, it’s that they don’t GET IT. Private lessons with a good kids instructor will start making light bulbs go off in their head as they begin to understand the dynamics of Jiu-Jitsu and for kids learning and becoming effective with one or two moves can put them ahead of the competition.
